Rafael Barros
Rafael Barros is the Director of Business Stream New Food at Tetra Pak, responsible for driving global efforts to scale novel and sustainable food solutions. He has been with Tetra Pak for 18 years, bringing deep technical expertise and strategic vision to the transformative “New Food” sector—including precision fermentation, alternative proteins, and biotech-enabled ingredients.
Rafael holds a bachelor’s degree in food engineering from the University of Campinas, Brazil and an Executive MBA from Lund University, Sweden. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish.
Rafael also serves on the board of Biotech Heights, an innovation hub in collaboration with Lund University, advancing food and materials biotechnology. He is recognised for forging strategic partnerships that accelerate the industrialisation of next-generation food products.
