As Chief Operating Officer, Hans (1968) is responsible for turning Meatable from an R&D-focused organization into a fully-fledged, internationally operating food company. Hans joined Meatable in early 2022, after having been president of global dairy nutrition company Fonterra for the last seven years, looking after the B2B and B2C businesses in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Russia.
During the first part of his career, he built and ran factories in Europe, Vietnam, the US and the Middle East, for both Unilever in the meat business and FrieslandCampina in the dairy business. After a stint as global director for manufacturing and procurement for FrieslandCampina on the operations side, he moved over to general management and ran the company’s very successful business in Thailand and surrounding countries. Subsequently, he was an executive board member of the Hero group in Switzerland, and COO for the Muller group in Luxemburg, prior to taking on the president role at Fonterra. Hans is a passionate believer that Meatable has both the team and the technology to make cultivated meat a reality, making a real impact on the planet.
