Asrar Damdam is a highly accomplished scientist and entrepreneur who holds a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering. Her research is focused on food preservation technologies and the Internet of Foods. As the founder and CEO of Uvera, a cleantech startup, Asrar is dedicated to tackling the global challenge of reducing food waste by 50% by 2030. Uvera's innovative products keep food fresher for longer, with an average increase in shelf life of up to 97%, achieved within just 30 seconds and without the use of any chemicals. In recognition of her groundbreaking scientific research, Asrar was awarded the L'Oreal-UNESCO Award for Women in Science in 2020.
