Prismatech Deaerator is specially designed for the production of sparkling mineral water and carbonated soft drinks. The deaerator extracts the atmospheric air dissolved in the product that needs to be removed before any other treatment such as carbonation. Otherwise, the liquid will not be saturated correctly and will reject the CO2 and consequently the fizz will disperse rapidly, causing the water or drink to go flat. In addition, the deaeration phase reduces unpleasant flavourings and aromas and prevents foaming during the filling stage. Prismatech provides two basic types of deaeration: • Deaeration by means of a vacuum pump • Deaeration with CO2 With standard Prismatech deaerators, deaeration of the liquid is achieved by means of a vacuum pump which removes the air and creates a void. In some special cases it may be necessary to inject CO2 in addition to or as an alternative to this step inasmuch the CO2 forces the removal of oxygen from water or beverage.
