The 8th China-South Asia Expo and the 28th China Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair have officially opened. The Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, Ding Zhongli, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Dignitaries and important guests from Sri Lanka, Laos, Myanmar, the Maldives, Nepal, and other countries also attended and addressed the audience. Yunnan Provincial Party Secretary Wang Ning and Vice Minister of Commerce Li Fei delivered speeches, while Yunnan Provincial Governor Wang Yubo presided over the opening ceremony. The six-day 8th China-South Asia Expo opened on the 23rd in Kunming, Yunnan. This year's Expo continues with the theme of "United in Collaboration for Shared Development," showcasing industries with significant potential for economic cooperation between China and South Asian countries, including green energy, modern agriculture, healthcare, and cultural tourism. Among the 15 exhibition halls, nearly 60% are specialized halls, featuring a Building Technology Hall, a Manufacturing Hall, a Green Energy Hall, a Modern Agriculture and Geographic Indication Products Hall, among others. For the first time, a Coffee Industry Hall was also established, with more than 160 exhibitors participating. The South Asia Pavilion has expanded to two halls, featuring over 800 booths, with a special pavilion dedicated to the theme country, Pakistan. This year's Expo saw participation from 82 countries, regions, and international organizations, with over 2,000 exhibitors, nearly half of which are from overseas, covering all countries in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
