PIM Unveils HSCD SSD-SA at Gulfood Manufacturing 2025: The Global Revolution in Sustainable Food Drying
PIM, an Italian leader in sustainable process technologies, will unveil at Gulfood Manufacturing 2025 in Dubai (Stand S2 C83) its groundbreaking HSCD SSD-SA – High Speed Cold Dryer, an internationally patented innovation that redefines the very concept of industrial drying.
Developed and engineered in Italy, the HSCD system combines non-ionizing electromagnetic waves with a controlled vacuum to achieve unmatched performance in efficiency, product quality, and environmental responsibility. It can dry any type of food — plant or animal — up to 10 times faster, at temperatures between 15°C and 35°C, while completely preserving the product’s structure, color, aroma, and nutrients.
HSCD represents a true alternative to traditional hot-air drying methods, eliminating oxidation, nutrient loss, and fossil fuel dependency. Key advantages include up to 80% energy savings, three to ten times higher production capacity, complete water recovery through a closed-loop process, five-log microbial load reduction, and full compatibility with renewable energy sources.
Unlike conventional drying technologies, HSCD works from the inside out, triggering natural evaporation from the product’s core. This cold process maintains the raw integrity and microbiological stability of foods, extending shelf life and ensuring superior sensory and nutritional quality. Extensive testing on over 150 products has confirmed HSCD’s repeatability, scalability, and exceptional sustainability results, achieving drastic reductions in drying time and energy consumption while maintaining natural product integrity.
