New technology for grading and packing dates
Futura Srl Presents Its New AI-Based Technology for Date Grading and Packaging With its heart in Italy and its eyes on the world, Futura Srl continues to redefine innovation in fruit sorting and packaging technologies. Led by CEO Omar Papi, the company introduces a new generation of date grading and packing systems, combining Italian engineering excellence with cutting-edge artificial intelligence. Futura’s latest solution was developed after years of research into the unique characteristics of dates and the growing global demand for automated, precise, and reliable processing systems. The new date grader automatically classifies fruit by diameter, weight, color, and external defects, using advanced AI software to adapt to different varieties and market needs. This flexibility enables customers to adjust performance easily during the production campaign. Built entirely from AISI 304 stainless steel, the machine is designed to withstand the sticky, demanding conditions of date processing and the need for continuous cleaning. Compact and space-efficient, it can handle up to 6 tonnes per hour per unit—or 12 tonnes per hour when two machines are combined. It offers remote management, user-friendly controls, and top-tier reliability, ensuring high productivity even where skilled technicians are not available. Futura Srl will unveil this innovation at Gulfood Manufacturing 2025, taking place at the World Trade Center in Dubai from 4–6 November, reaffirming its strong presence in the Middle East. The company will also exhibit for the first time at Agro Food Expo in Tbilisi, Georgia (27–28 November), before heading to Fruit Logistica in Berlin, the premier European trade fair for the sector. Through this new milestone, Futura Srl confirms its commitment to innovation, adaptability, and global expansion—bringing Italian technology and precision to international agri-food markets.
