Futura develops AI-powered date sorting technology for global markets
Futura, led by managing director Omar Papi, is advancing date sorting and packing with an AI native approach. After years of product study and market analysis, the company developed a compact grader built entirely in AISI 304 stainless steel with premium components for durability, minimal sugar buildup, and reduced washing. Each unit handles up to six tonnes per hour for average sized dates, and paired machines reach twelve tonnes per hour. Core sorting uses diameter, size, and colour, while AI powered vision detects external defects and groups fruit into easily selectable classes. The software is flexible, remote manageable, and simple for non technical operators, so customers can adapt specifications during the season.
Demand for advanced quality control is strongest where labour costs are high, such as Europe, although Futura supplies a wide range of global markets. The company has a long standing presence across CIS countries through its Tashkent office and, since 2024, Futura AZ in Baku. There it offers turnkey projects that cover needs assessment, warehouse design, cold storage, and grading lines. Two additional high capacity processing plants are planned for 2026, one focused on peaches and flat peaches, the other on apples.
Commercial priorities include promoting the new date line in Arab markets. Futura will exhibit at Gulfood Manufacturing in Dubai World Trade Center on 4 to 6 November, Hall S3, Stand B-71, then at Agro Food Expo in Tbilisi on 27 to 28 November, followed by Fruit Logistica in Berlin.
