The BSM-150 is primarily used for cutting strips and slices. The special thing about it is that over 20 different types vegetables and fruits - from delicate leafy vegetables to rustic potatoes - can be processed with a wide variety of requirements. It is characterized, among other things, by its user-friendliness. “In an emergency, the entire production process can also be accompanied by employees who have not been specifically trained for this machine,” explains Roy Lemmen, Sormac’s sales director. This is fundamentally important, not least in times of staff shortages. The machine is operated using a touchscreen and guides the user intuitively through the entire production process with the help of pictograms and in various selectable languages (German, French, English and Dutch). “When developing the software and the user interface, great importance was placed on ensuring that the customer’s machine could start operating as quickly as possible. “All you have to do is enter the product, the cutting shape and the cutting size,” informs the sales director. Ultimately, different parameters are required depending on the product. The input was deliberately designed to be simple. This was made possible by images of individual knives and vegetables that could not be confused.
